Men injured in St Albans aggravated burglary

Two men are in a serious condition after a property in St Albans was stormed by at least two people in an aggravated burglary.

Investigators have been told at least two people knocked on the door of the St Albans home at 1.15am Sunday.

Police say that when the door was opened, the men rushed inside and assaulted the property’s two occupants, aged 41 and 43.

Police understand the incident followed an earlier verbal altercation. 

One of the residents was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with injuries to his upper body, while the other was taken to Footscray Hospital with head injuries. 

A Victoria Police spokesmen said both men were in a serious condition.
