WESTMEADOWS: Drunk driver crashes into homes

A drunk driver has damaged two houses after he smashed into a side fence and took out a neighbouring home’s verandah pillar in Westmeadows.

Police say the silver Holden station wagon was driving south along Elizabeth Street, Westmeadows, near Capri Court, when the 39-year-old driver lost control while going around a bend just after midnight.

The car then crashed through the front yard of one house, taking out a side fence before slamming into the verandah of the home next door.

The Gladstone Park driver tested positive for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police are investigating the crash and the driver is being interviewed.

Anyone with information is asked to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
