Brimbank punters are being encouraged to head to Flemington this Saturday for Sunshine Hospital’s charity race day.
Melbourne Cup- winning jockeys Midge Didham and Jim Johnson are urging racing fans to support the annual event, which raises funds for the hospital’s children’s ward.
The race day includes free children’s activities at the western end of the public lawn, outdoor games, arts and crafts and pony rides.
Patrons can also enjoy guided tours of the Flemington heritage centre.
The Sunshine children’s ward is the third-largest provider of paediatric services in the state. Gates open 11.50am.
