MT ELIZA: Man arrested after stand-off

A man armed with a gun who fired shots at police during a two-and-a-half hour stand-off in Mount Eliza has been arrested.

Officers were called to Roborough Avenue, Mount Eliza, about 7pm on Sunday after they received reports of shots being fired.

Victoria Police spokeswoman Melissa Seach said the critical incident response team tried to negotiate with the 44-year-old Mt Eliza man while he fired shots at police.

He was arrested about 9.30pm before being taken to Frankston Hospital in a stable condition.
