VSDCA: Sunshine can’t overcome day one drama

Sunshine failed in its quest to reverse the effects of a disastrous first-innings batting performance in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association match against Endeavour Hills on Saturday.

The Crows were bowled out for 73 on the opening day but had the Hills in trouble at 8-48 before the hosts recovered to declare at 9-202 after an unbeaten century from Richard Saniga.

The second day amounted to little more than glorified batting practice for the Crows, who made 7-171 in their second dig.

Talented teenager Ben Luca top-scored with 47 not out.

The Crows will host Mt Waverley in a two-dayer at Dempster Park, starting on Saturday.
