RAIL LINK NOISE WALLS (Weekly, October 29)

It’s the same story all along the line. The noise barriers have not been put out to competitive tender and are being built by the same construction companies that are building the Regional Rail Link.

Of course they are providing ugly noise walls rather than looking for alternative solutions that not only cut noise but help deal with the increase in diesel pollution.

Noise barriers do nothing. We live on Railway Place in West Melbourne and the blue barriers have done nothing but excite the graffiti artists.

VACANT CAIRNLEA LAND (Weekly, October 29)

It should be used for modern, high-class townhouses and a
year 7-12 high school.

People need more housing and education.

It should not be vacant for ever at the expense of ratepayers, who pay for the maintenance of that land.

CCTV CASH DOUBT (Weekly, October 22)

This is a joke, isn’t it? What area needs CCTV cameras more than Sunshine railway station? Installing them there will help clean up the area.

How many assaults do they need there to realise this?
