FERNTREE GULLY: Man charged over 1984 abduction

A man has been charged over allegedly abducting a 16-year-old boy from Heatherdale Railway Station almost 30 years ago.

Police said the Ferntree Gully man, 60, was arrested last week in Ferntree Gully.

He has been charged with 52 offences, including indecent assault, abduction, false imprisonment and kidnapping,  between February and September in 1984, by the Knox Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team.

The man has been bailed by police to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates Court on 15 November 2013.
