UPDATE: Shots have been fired at three pizzerias connected to an award-winning pizza maker in a string of overnight attacks.
The shootings came late on Wednesday night, with bullets fired at three restaurants connected to local pizza maker Tony Cannata.
Armed Crime Taskforce detectives are investigating and believe the attacks may be linked.
All three restaurants were closed at the time of the shootings and no injuries were reported.
The attacks began just after 11pm when half a dozen bullets were fired into the side window of Woodstock Cucina on the corner of Nicholson and Reid streets in North Fitzroy.
The shots were believed to have been fired from a vehicle.
Half an hour later, police were called to a restaurant under construction in Napier Street, Essendon, where shots had been fired into the vacant building.
3AW reported that the shop is also linked to the Cannata family.
Finally, a third restaurant on Lygon Street in East Brunswick, Woodstock Pizzicheria, was also shot at.
A Woodstock representative declined to comment and said the matter was being handled by Victoria Police.
Mr Cannata was crowned overall champion pizzaiolo at the 2013 Australian Pizza Championships.
No arrests have been made and police are appealing for witnesses.
