VTCA: Keilor batsmen let them down in one-dayer

Keilor posted a below-par 123 in its senior division one-dayer against Bentleigh in the Victorian Turf Cricket Association and couldn’t defend it, with the visitors reaching 8-158 after an early struggle.

In north A1, Sunshine Druids made a flying start with a big win over St Albans, led by 46 not out to Tim McKerracher.

Newly promoted St Andrews failed by four runs in a nailbiter against Altona Roosters, despite 46 from Andrew Hodgart, while Taylors Lakes could muster only 92 chasing the modest target of 102 set by Haig Fawkner.

In west B1, Sunshine Heights, inspired by three wickets from Agha Adeel, beat Sunshine United by five runs in a memorable local derby to claim the Jim Peter Cup.

Deer Park-Ardeer took its first steps in the VTCA and they were successful ones, with a surprisingly easy 76-run win over Sunshine YCW.
