A house party in Glen Waverley turned into a riot on Friday night, with bottles and fireworks thrown at police.
The party, advertised on Facebook, was attended by 400 youths at an unoccupied house in Ranfurlie Avenue, Glen Waverley.
Police were called to the address by neighbours about 11pm but were forced to wait for backup after bottles and fireworks were thrown at them.
Up to 70 police attended, including two canine units and the air wing, and managed to close the party down. Two police vehicles were damaged when youths jumped onto the bonnet and roof, causing panel damage and a smashed windscreen.
The partygoers damaged gardens, fences and a house under construction in the street. One drunk teenage girl was transported to hospital and two other men were charged with being drunk.
The house has been scheduled to be demolished for some time.
