St Albans man stabbed in city

Police have arrested two men after a 25-year-old St Albans man was stabbed outside a licensed venue in the CBD on Sunday morning.

Police cordoned off Russell Street from Bourke Street to Little Bourke Street to investigate the stabbing, which police say took place at about 5.50am.

A police spokeswoman said the St Albans man was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious condition. She said his injuries were non-life threatening.

Police have arrested a 20-year-old Mt Eliza man and a 26-year-old man of unknown address.

The spokeswoman said both men were assisting with inquiries.
