Picnic in the park

Families have been invited to Werribee Park on Sunday, October 22 for the annual Wyndham council Children’s Week Picnic. The Minions from the Despicable Me films will be at this year’s event and other activities include a sport zone and a Toy Swap Party from 10am to 4pm. The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning’s Western Metropolitan Partnership is running an online survey before its first assembly on Wednesday, October 4. The survey asks residents to list the top-five most significant projects they would like to see in the western suburbs. The Western Metropolitan Partnership includes 15 community members of the west. Help at sea

A new marine distress and emergency service called Marine Radio Victoria has been launched to cover areas including Port Phillip and Western Port bays. The service will monitor and record radio traffic on VHF and HF emergency radio channels. See www.transportsafety.vic.gov.au/msv for details.
