Footscray artist puts his life on display in Sunshine

BRIMBANK art lovers can experience the many shades of everyday
life in the latest exhibition by Richard McLean.

Urban landscapes are a
major theme of the Footscray artist’s collection of drawings and digital
prints, on show at Sunshine Art Spaces gallery until the end of August.

“This collection is from past work including art and books I’ve
created,’’ McLean says.

‘‘I think it shows some creative resilience
through some good and bad times, including living with schizophrenia. I
think the work is beautiful, if melancholic, which creates some visual
tensions.”

The free exhibition is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from
3.30pm-6pm, and Saturdays from noon-3pm until August 30. Details:
