WITH a new song in the can, former Sunshine singer Daniela Corso hopes to provide the soundtrack to many future weddings.
The Music Oz finalist recruited actor Daniel Whyte (Winners and Losers, Underbelly and Neighbours) for the $18,000 shoot of her You’re Here at St Kilda’s Astor Theatre.
“[The song’s] about . . . having that undeniable connection with a person, where you have a sense of knowing without knowing,” she says. “Being with the person that has a complete understanding of you.’’
Corso hopes her self-funded You’re Here song and film clip will become as synonymous with weddings as Barry White’s What’s Goin’ On.
‘‘I’m really enjoying exploring new sounds and writing from a place of absolute honesty. I recently sold my house and set aside some money . . . it’s now or never, I thought.”
Corso will fly to the US in October for a month of touring, radio and TV appearances, and recording before launching an EP later this year.
