Braybrook’s Big Day Out is back in

BRAYBROOK’S Big Day Out festival will return in November after six years in the wilderness.

Part of the Big West Festival’s 2013 program, the event will return on Sunday, November 24, thanks to a $10,000 Bank of Melbourne grant.

Described as a “neighbourhood festival within a festival”, Braybrook’s BDO began in 2003 as a four-hour sideshow but was discontinued after 2007 due to a lack of funding.

“The Big Day Out is a great way to bring communities together,” Big West artistic director Marcia Ferguson said.

“While the program is still to be finalised, there will be a large dance performance event involving up to 50 students.”

This year’s Big West Festival is from November 22 to December 1. Details: bigwest.com.au
