BRIMBANK chairman John Watson says a new reconciliation action plan will allow council to continue working to achieve a shared sense of justice for the municipality’s indigenous community.
The plan, launched on June 3, was developed by the council and the Wurundjeri Tribe Land Compensation and Cultural Heritage Council.
The council will establish an employment strategy, ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags are flying permanently at the council offices and create better ties between schools and indigenous people to foster awareness of indigenous history.
