POLICE have charged a 29-year-old Taylors Lakes man after he was caught running from a stolen tow truck in Cairnlea.
Police said the owner of the truck, which was reported stolen on May 22, saw it being driven by two men in Altona North about 2am on June 4.
The owner was in another vehicle when he saw the truck on the Western Ring Road. Police followed the truck along Station Road, Deer Park.
Two men jumped from its cabin at the intersection of Station and Parklea roads.
The Taylors Lakes man was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and driving offences. Police are still searching for the second man.
