PUPILS at Sunshine Heights Primary celebrated the school’s cultural diversity with a soccer festival last Wednesday.
The SportWest “We are Australia” football festival was held at the school’s Mailey Street campus.
Principal Alex Artavilla said children like Jimmy, Wiley and Lana (pictured), their families and residents joined in the event, which included a clinic with soccer stars such as Melbourne Victory’s Sam Gallagher and Jason Geria, and former Socceroo Danny Allsopp.
“It [the festival] not only celebrates the diversity of our school community, it also provided our students with authentic leadership experiences,” Mr Artavilla said.
A similar event was held earlier this year at Mother of God Primary School in Ardeer.
