Super kitchen rules

COMMUNITY Chef has been reappointed to supply meals on wheels to 20 western suburbs councils for the next decade.

The Altona-based super-kitchen, which opened in 2010, delivers food to frail and elderly residents across Melbourne.

Delivery areas include Brimbank, Melton, Hobsons Bay, Hume, Macedon Ranges and Moonee Valley.

This financial year, 63,000 meals worth $670,000 are expected to be made.

Celebrity chef Gabriel Gate developed the multicultural menu, which includes halal and kosher fare.
