Three arrested over copper theft attempt

SUNSHINE police have arrested three men allegedly attempting to steal copper on a
railway line in St Albans early this morning.

Police saw the men dismantling the copper on the train tracks on St Albans Road, between Curtin
Street and Stradbroke Drive, about 1.30am.

A 37-year-old man was arrested at the scene while the other two fled
from police.

Both alleged offenders, 45 and 42, were found by the canine unit hiding behind a nearby
parked vehicle and arrested.

The trio, all from St Albans, are expected to be charged on summons with theft.
