Kayley’s ‘little family’

With the slogan ’emerging creative talent’, it’s no surprise Dance Space Performing Arts in Hillside encourages children to get their groove on.

Owner and dance instructor Kayley Williams started dancing at age four and wants to give that same opportunity to coming generations.

“After working for another dance studio in the west for six years, I decided to turn my pipe dream into reality by opening Dance Space Performing Arts in 2008.

“We’re a family-oriented school and I pride myself on knowing every student and parent by name,” Kayley says.

She and one of her students, Emma Kennedy (now also an assistant instructor), teach tap, jazz, contemporary and ballet classes for girls and boys aged three to 16, keeping them up to date with all the latest dance styles.

“I’ve seen many students pass through my doors with different issues and what they give me is far more than I can ever return,” Kayley says.

“I feel privileged to work alongside wonderful parents and committed students every week.”

The centre has 62 students and Kayley refers to them as “her little family”.
