FOUR fires were lit in an industrial area at Sunshine on Wednesday night, across the valley from where a string of fires were deliberately lit at Keilor East the night before.

Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Services Board Commander Bob Undy says investigators believe the same group of arsonists is responsible for the attacks.

He says it’s fortunate a railway line had prevented the fire spreading to other grassy areas.

‘‘If that wind had have been in a different direction, we could have had property losses, we could have had real problems,’’ Mr Undy said.

‘‘It’s putting life and property at risk, all for the sake of so-called fun.

‘‘I don’t know what kicks they get out of it but they have got to live with it if anything goes wrong.’’

Anyone with any information of the above incidents should call Crime Stoppers, 1800 333 000 or online at crimestoppers.com.au.
