Only two crossings after rail works

Maurice Sibelle (Your Voice, Weekly, November 13) echoes thoughts that most of us share. Unfortunately, some of the facts are misconstrued. With completion of the Regional Rail Link project some time next year, there will be only two level crossings between Flinders Street and Watergardens. Compare this to the Frankston line, which has 32 open crossings. Are those people less deserving than we are? I think not. Consider that each crossing cost around $200 million and causes a lot of disruption; then this becomes a lengthy and costly exercise. John Zitta (via web)

Re: Disability plan: Ins and outs of access policy (Weekly, November 27):

I would like to thank the people, and all their hard work, who have helped both map and develop this much-needed disability plan to be adopted by Brimbank Council. More needs to be done and I’m grateful that we have proactive people who advocate for better-quality services. In particular, a big thanks to access worker Lisa Frost for her support and assistance.
