Wet start to cricket season

Wet weather and the start of cricket season continue to go hand in hand.

With wet weather throughout the week and more predicted on Saturday, many cricketers will find themselves on the sidelines for another week.

The Western Region Junior Cricket Association made the call to cancel Friday and Saturday matches on Thursday night after consultation with the Bureau of Meteorology.

They are hoping that Sunday and Monday matches might be able to go ahead.

The Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association made the call on Friday to call off all round matches.

The first and second XI games will be rescheduled to December 5, while the third and fourth XI matches have been abandoned.

The Victorian Turf Cricket Association also made the call on Friday afternoon.

Matches will now be played on the reserve day.
