Victorian Turf Cricket Association players will have to wait another week to return to the field after the weekend’s action was cancelled.
Matches were set to go ahead despite the growing number of clubs affected by players in isolation due to the pandemic, but the weather had other ideas.
The association announced on Saturday morning that all matches had been cancelled due to the large number of grounds unavailable due to heavy rain in the previous days.
Play is set to resume this weekend.
In the senior division, Sunshine faces Doutta Stars, Yarraville Club plays St Albans, Druids take on Haig Fawkner, Aberfeldie hosts Westmeadows and Keilor will face Craigieburn.
Meanwhile the next stage of the T20 competition is set to start on Tuesday night.
Roxburgh Park, Haig Fawkner, Westmeadows, PEGS, Tullamarine, Sydenham-Hillside, Williamstown CYMS, Point Cook, Aberfeldie, Footscray United, Altona North, Druids, Grand United, Maribyrnong Park St Marys, Wyndhamvale and Deer Park are the sides which made it through to the knockout stage.
