Turcinovich to step down at Braybrook

Braybrook coach Vinnie Turcinovich will step down at the end of the Western Region Football League division 3 season.

The Brookers took to social media on Monday saying that Turcinovich wouldn’t coach on after this season.

“Vinnie assumed the top job at the end of the 2019 season and has tirelessly worked through what has been an unprecedented time with COVID, which seriously affected his time at the club,” the post said.

“Vinnie has only coached around 25 game’s for the club across three seasons due to these COVID impacts but he has made a positive impact with the time he had.

“We sincerely thank Vinnie for all his hard work, he leaves our club for the better and we wish him well with his future endeavours.”

Turcinovich previously coached Yarraville Seddon to the WRFL division 2 premiership in 2019 when he was also named the AFL Victoria western region coach of the year before coming to the Brookers.

Turcinovich still has work to do this season, with the Brookers to play finals.

The Brookers will finish the regular season in third or fourth, depending on results in the final round.

They will face Sunshine Heights in the first week of finals in a knockout semi final either way.

The Brookers are due to face the Suns in the final round of the regular season on Saturday.

In other final round matches, Tarneit are set to host Sunshine Heights.

North Sunshine, Laverton and Albanvale all have byes.

Albanvale will face the Suns for a spot in the grand final in the other semi final next weekend.
