Keilor Thunder has locked in its coaches ahead of its inaugural season in the NBL1 South competition.
The Thunder has gone with continuity, with Liam Glascott and Tom Bandilovski reappointed men’s and women’s coaches respectively.
The two have been coaching those sides in the Big V competition, with both having taken their side to a division 1 championship previously.
The Thunder in on its Facebook page said it was ecstatic to lock both of those coaches in for next year. The club is one of two new teams in the NBL1 south competition next year.
“I’m looking forward to taking the step up to NBL1 for both the playing group and coaching staff,” Glascott said on the Facebook post.
“It has been a goal of mine since I took over coaching the men’s program in 2017 and that is to play the highest level of basketball offered within our state.
“I can’t wait to get back on the floor and see what sort of team we can assemble.”
Bandilovski said, “we are very excited about the move to NBL1, the KBA has been working hard in developing our women’s program to provide pathways for our junior players.
“The hard work over the last five years has seen us become one of the most competitive teams in the Big V Championship league and we aim to bring that to the NBL1 competition.
We have worked hard to build our program and we look forward to our first season in NBL1.”
