Suvada’s devastating spell for Deer Park

Deer Park’s Ricky Suvada ran through Altona North’s batting order as the Victorian Turf Cricket Association’s first round of T20 matches continued.

After several matches were played last week, the rest of the first round of round robin matches were played on Sunday and Tuesday night.

Suvada took 5-6 off his four overs as Deer Park skittled Altona North for just 35 off 14 overs on Tuesday night in the Woodfull group.

It took just six overs for Deer Park to get the runs, finishing 2-39.

Steven Nicholson starred in the Druids win against Aberfeldie in the Bradman group.

Nicholson took 4-18 as the Druids restricted Aberfeldie to 8-102.

He then opened the batting scoring 48, to help his side to 7-103.

Keilor chased down Craigieburn’s total with ease in the Ponsford group.

Craigieburn made 9-111 from its overs, with Sammy Laffan top scoring with 39.

Keilor finished 4-112 in reply, making the runs with 16 balls remaining.

In the Ponting group, Williamstown Imps and West Newport were the winners on Tuesday night.

The Imps finished 2-96 in reply to Newport-Digman’s 92.

West Newport’s total of 6-151 against Williamstown CYMS’ was just enough.

The CYs’ were bowled out for 145 with two balls remaining.

Brenton Parchment put on a show for Doutta Stars against West Coburg in the Simpson group.

Parchment smashed 100 as the Stars finished 2-195.

West Coburg fell well short, making 3-123.

On Sunday, Maribyrnong Park St Marys and Flemington had wins in the Hassett group against Sunshine YCW and Aberfeldie Park respectively.

In the Morris group, some tight bowling from Caroline Springs and Wyndham Vale got both sides wins.

Caroline Springs made 9-128 from its overs, before restricting Melton South Royals to 85.

Gayashan Weerasekara was the star for Caroline Springs, making 30 and then taking 4-14.

Wyndham Vale made 2-91 in replay to Sydenham-Hillisde’s 6-89.

Trent Lawford took 3-1 for Wyndham Vale.

In the Taylor group, Footscray ANA best Gellibrand in the second last over and Williamstown Congs defeated St Andrews, who fell 13 runs short of victory.

In the Border group, East Coburg defeated East Keilor and St Albans was too good for Airport West St Christophers. In the Lawry Group.
