Sunshine United has a run chase on its hands as the race for finals spots in the Victorian Turf Cricket Association senior division heats up.

With all but one team still in the finals mix, every game of the second last round of the season has something on the line.

The Druids made a more than competitive 9-279 against Sunshine United. Buddika Hasaranga was the star of the show for the Wizards, making 113 off 130 balls.

Leigh Sheridan took 4-67 off his 20 overs.

Deer Park will also have to fire with the bat on day two of its match against Aberfeldie.

Abers had a day out, making 9-347 from their overs.

Anthony Barton top scored with 128. Hashan Wanasekara took four wickets for the Lions but was expensive.

St Albans put on a solid total as it aims to keep its finals hopes alive against Keilor.

The Saints were bowled out for 252 with eight balls remaining.

Shanaka Silva top scored with 42 as most of the batting line up got starts.

Matthew Gaskett was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4-78.

In the other matches, Haig Fawkner made 202 against Westmeadows in the battle between top and bottom.

The Eagles struggled to get going with the bat, bowled out for 164. Sammy Laffan top scored with 61.

In division 1, Sydenham-Hillside has its work cut out for it against PEGS.

PEGS scored 7-285 from its overs with Carlos Maynard top scoring with an unbeaten 124.

Stefon King took four wickets for the Storm.

St Francis de Sales was another team to put on a big score. St Francis made 278 against Sunshine, with a number of batters making solid contributions.

Charitha Wijesinghe was the pick of the bowlers for the Crows, taking three wickets.

Tullarmine was bowled out for 212 against Seddon, while Airport West St Christophers is 2-19 in reply to Doutta Stars 195.

Altona North is on top in its match with West Coburg.

Altona North will resume at 2-87 in reply to 185.

In division 2, Keilor Park produced a solid day against the Altona Roosters.

The Devils were bowled out for 175, before having the Roosters 4-32 at stumps. Trent Thomson has all four wickets.

In division 3, Glenroy need just seven runs for first innings points against Sunshine Heights.

The Heights were bowled out for 112. Glenroy was 6-106 at stumps.

Grand United is on top after day one against Caroline Springs.

The Falcons were bowled out for 123, with the Gorillas 2-61 in reply.

In division 5, Sunshine YCW bowled Jacana out for 209. Max Weise took 5-32 off his 19 overs for Sunshine.

Burnside Springs is 1-4 in reply to Donnybrook’s 182.
