Keilor Park women’s team is heading into the Victorian Premier League for season 2024.
The Eagles have guaranteed themselves a promotion with two rounds remaining in the FV State League 1 competition.
While the promotion is secured, the Eagles sit only two points behind table leaders Bundoora, which sets up a nail biting finish to the championship race.
Led by head coach Sam Pirruccio alongside co-captains Carla Pelligra and Emily Stipic the team has only conceded one game for the entire season. Which came in a 2-0 loss to Bundoora back in round two.
Pelligra said the promotion is the result of a lot of hard work and dedication.
“Not only this year but years prior to get to where we are today,” she said.
“It’s so rewarding to see all the hard work pay off and I’m so proud of all the girls.
“Keilor Park as a club have also worked hard behind the scenes to support our women’s teams at the club and it’s great to see this hard work come to fruition.
“We’re all really looking forward to the coming years, to keep progressing our skills and showcasing our talents to the leagues.”
“At the start of the year, I knew we had a special team who would do great things. I am beyond proud of all the women who play in the seniors and reserve team, the girls are so talented and deserve to be rewarded with this amazing opportunity,” Stipic said.
The Eagles have been a scoring powerhouse throughout the season bolstering a goal difference of 51 thanks to the 68 goals they have scored throughout the season.
This scoring attack has been led by Sarah Dewitt and Khiana Shervey who have 21 and 18 goals respectively.
Via social media the club expressed its support for the team’s achievements.

Keilor Park have been pioneers in female soccer with its female program commencing in 1996. The club is now home to 12 women’s and girls teams with over 130 female participants.
