Young Luke Littler, pictured with dad Chris, was given an early birthday treat when the Western Bulldogs’ premiership cup toured the west recently.
Luke was a patient at Sunshine Hospital, and one of only about 100 people who laid hands on the holy grail when it stopped by. Luke turned one just five days after the Cup visit.
Mum Melissa, a lifelong Bulldogs’ fan, said she hopes the fact Luke was born in the long-awaited premiership year means he will follow in her footsteps as a Doggies’ fan.
“He was born in the year of the premiership … and Luke Dahlhaus was on the front page of the paper on the day he was born,” she said.
The cup also toured Footscray and Williamstown hospitals as part of the Western Bulldogs’ Sons of the West men’s health program.
