PEGS has received a boost for the upcoming Victorian Amateur Football Association season.
Going up to premier C division after winning the division 3 last season, PEGS announced that Max Philpot had agreed to commit to the club in a massive boost for the side.
“We are very excited to announce that Max Philpot has agreed to sign on with PEGS as his feeder club when not representing Williamstown VFL as we look to chase success again this season,” the club said on social media.
“Maxy is a former PEGS student [and] in his last two seasons at the PEGS he was a runner up best and fairest and best and fairest winner as well as VAFA senior state representative.
“In recent seasons he has worked his way into a strong Williamstown VFL side. He is a great person and a fantastic attribute for the club.
“We are super excited to have Max back around the club, we look forward to also seeing more of his incredible family at the runway.”
Philpot played 16 games with Williamstown last season, averaging more than 12 possessions a game, having joined the club in 2017 from the Western Jets.
Philpot is the first signing announced by PEGS.
The side will this year be coached by Andrew Horne and Andrew Beever. The pair replaced premiership winning coach Lee Hannah.
Horne, who won the league division 3 best and fairest award last season, will continue on in a playing capacity.
