Keilor product Nick O’Kearney is on the hunt for a new football home after AFL club St Kilda delisted him today.

The midfielder, out of the Calder Cannons, spent two seasons on the Saints rookie list, but despite showing good form with Sandringham in the Victorian Football League, could not crack it for a senior elevation.

O’Kearney impressed senior coach Alan Richardson in his time with the Saints, but tough decisions have to be made by all clubs in this period of the year.

“Nick’s attitude has been exemplary in his time at the Saints,” Richardson said.

“He’s worked incredibly hard on his game and was very consistent for Sandringham.

“Unfortunately he was unable to force his way into the midfield group at AFL level.

“Nick is a great young man and we wish him all the best for the future.”
