There were mixed results for the Brimbank teams in the National Premier League on the weekend.

While Green Gully was able to come away with the full three points, Melbourne Knights and the St Albans Saints both came away with nothing.

The Cavaliers continued their good form with a 4-1 win against Dandenong City.

Despite having played a midweek game, the Cavaliers showed no signs as they hit the lead in the 11th minute.

Dandenong levelled the scores just before half time through a penalty.

The second half was all the Cavaliers as they ran away with another good win.

The Cavaliers sit in fourth spot.

An injury time goal from the Bentleigh Greens allowed them to come away with the full points against the Knights.

The Knights opened the scoring in the first minute of the game through Trevor Ssemakula.

Scores were level again when Thomas Strickland scored in the 21st minute for the Greens.

The match was headed towards a draw before a goal to George Lambadaridis in the first minute of injury time in the second half, gave the Greens the lead.

They won 2-1.

The Knights sit in ninth spot.

St Albans Saints had a tough night against South Melbourne on Saturday night.

South Melbourne scored twice either side of half time to get a 4-0 win.

The Saints are 11th after 17 rounds.

In NPL3, it was a high scoring first half between the North Sunshine Eagles and Geelong.

Geelong scored early, before the Eagles levelled through a penalty to Nicholas Epifano.

It was quick lived with Geelong scoring twice more before the break.

It would be a quieter second half, with Geelong winning 3-1.

The Eagles sit in seventh spot.

Western United had no troubles against the Whittlesea Ranges

United led 2-1 at half time after three goals in the back half of the first half.

Two goals early in the second half would seal the win for United.

United sits in third spot, just three points behind ladder leaders Melbourne City.

Meanwhile in the FV state league competition, ladder leaders Caroline Springs George Cross suffered a rare loss in state league 1 north-west.

The Georgies trailed the Essendon Royals 1-0 after half time, with the Royals scoring a second goal in the second half to seal the 2-0 win.

Brimbank Stallions returned to the winners list with a 2-1 win against Clifton Hill, while Keilor Park lost to Altona City 3-1 and Sydenham Park beat Whittlesea United 1-0.
