Sunshine Eagles were left to rue missed chances in Baseball Victoria Summer League men’s division 1.
Facing top side Geelong Baycats, the Eagles lost 5-2.
The Eagles led for most of the game and had their opportunities to take the points.
The Eagles enter the break sitting third with a 4-2 record.
The two sides will also face each other in the first match back after the break on January 22.
The Eagles women’s team continued their strong form in the division 3 west competition.
Also facing the Baycats, the Eagles won 14-7.
The Eagles are undefeated heading into the Christmas break.
The Eagles will have an extra week break, with a bye the first round back.
