Mixed results for Keilor, St Albans and Sunshine United

St Albans hopes of a finals appearance suffered a setback with a loss to the Druids in the Victorian Turf Cricket Association senior division.

Druids, another side in the finals mix, put in a strong performance with the bat, making 6-199 from its overs. Skipper Michael Hay top scored with 53 not out.

For the Saints, Geeth Alwis took four wickets.

Most of the Saints top order got starts, but couldn’t go on with it.

The Saints were eventually bowled out for 140, with Shanaka Silva top scoring with 36.

Jarrod Parsons took four wickets for the Druids.

St Albans sit eighth, nine points outside the top four. The Druids sit in fourth spot.

Keilor is keeping the pressure on the top four, having accounted for Sunshine United on Saturday.

Keilor made 7-184 from its overs, with Rob Clements top scoring with 55.

Rhys Dodemaide took three wickets for the Tigers.

The Blues made light work of the Tigers batting line up, bowling them out for 83.

Miguel Cummins and Jhett Gaskett took three wickets each for the Blues.

The Blues sit in fifth, three points outside the top four.

In other matches, Westmeadows beat longtime rival Craigieburn in a thriller.

The Warriors made 8-156 from their overs. No one stood out with the bat, with Tarek Moughanie top scoring with 31 before being run out.

Mick Bury, Daniel English and Anthony Peterson took two wickets each for the Eagles.

The run chase would go down to the final over.

The Eagles started well and looked on track at 5-139. The wickets would start falling, with the Eagles losing 5-16 to be bowled out for 155 with four balls remaining.

Nathan Pappin top scored for the Eagles, with 50.

Aaron Evans was the pick of the bowlers, with three wickets for the Warriors.

The win moves the Warriors up to seven on 24 points equal with sixth placed Craigieburn.

In other results, Aberfeldie suffered its first loss of the season being defeated by Haig Fawkner.

Yarraville Club had a big win on the back of a Trent Lawford century against the Doutta Stars.

In division 1, Deer Park continued on its winning ways, beating Altona North.

Airport West St Christophers had a massive win against PEGS, Sunshine defeated Tullamarine, Seddon was too good for the Altona Roosters and St Francis de Sales beat West Coburg.

In division 2, Newport-Digman beat Williamstown CYMS, West Newport beat Keilor Park, Greenvale Kangaroos were too strong for Royal Park-Brunswick, St Andrews Pascoe Vale beat Glenroy and Sydenham-Hillside defeated Kingsville.

In division 3, Grand United, Sunbury, Point Cook, Footscray United and Pascoe Vale Hadfield were the winners, while in division 4, St Andrews, Moonee Valley, Caroline Springs, Gellibrand and Williamstown Colts won.
