Sydenham Park has wasted no time in appointing a new coach for next year’s FV state league 1 north-west season.

The club announced on Wednesday night that Goran Lozanovski would take over the coaching reins.

“Lozanovski arrives at Sydenham with exceptional football experience, both at a coaching and at a playing level,” the club’s social media post said.

“His illustrious career as a player in the NSL [National Soccer League] and representation at national level in the Socceroos squad set the foundation for his coaching career.

“Lozanovski’s tenure at both NPL [National Premier League] and state league with teams such as Preston Lions, Northcote City, Altona Magic, Westgate and Hume City and the successes attained in different divisions has positioned him to bring his experience to Sydenham Park Soccer Club.”

In 2022, Lozanovski started the season with Westgate, before crossing to join Hume City as it tried to avoid relegation.

Lozanovski replaces Denii Lisolajski who decided to step down after the end of this season.

“Denni has spent the last few seasons as senior head coach with his appointment at the back of 2018, with the exception of two seasons being disrupted by COVID19 and we cannot thank him enough for his outstanding services,” the club said on social media.

“His passion and dedication to his team and the club are second to none and have provided the right ingredients to build and develop high performing teams shaping the future of the club.

“Denii would like to thank the committee, sponsors, players, volunteers, and supporters for having belief in his processes and the continued support.

“Sydenham Park Soccer Club has always been and will still be his family and is proud of what has been achieved and the journey he has been on from coaching at junior level to senior level at the club.”

“Denii gave everything he had every day, meticulously planning training sessions and game day strategies in collaboration with his coaching staff.”

Sydenham Park finished the season in third spot, one spot shy of promotion.

Another state league 1 north-west club, Keilor Park will also have a new coach with Paul Falzon deciding not to continue on.

“Paul is a loyal and long-standing member of the club which commenced in its playing days over 30 years ago,” the club said on social media.

“Paul has helped build the club and we would like to thank him for his immense contribution over the years

“He is a well-regarded, respected, and admired member of the club and the football fraternity. During his many years at Keilor Park, Paul has been a credit both on and off the pitch, respected by players, members, supporters, and the wider football community.

“His passion and dedication to the senior team has provided the right ingredients to build and develop a high performing team shaping the future of the Keilor Park Soccer Club.”
