Taylors Lakes is finally on the board in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association east-west competition.
After a tough start to the season, the Lions were able to put it together against Bayswater on Saturday.
With a new look opening partnership with Austin Young coming in for his first top side game of the season and English international Ben Coddington, the Lions got off to a solid start.
The wickets then started to fall with the side at 4-73. The middle and lower order continued to push the score with the Lions finishing 9-186.
Aamir Raza top scored with 51 for the Lions.
Bayswater started well and were at 0-47 and were still in control at 1-75.
The loss of three wickets put the Lions back into the game and they managed to slow the run rate.
Baywater continued to push the run rate, but the loss of frequent wickets slowed its pace.
Bayswater finished just short, 8-178.
The Lions shared the wickets around with three players taking two wickets each.
Taylors Lakes this week faces Melton in the last match before Christmas.
