A tough run of results has continued for Taylors Lakes in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association south-west.

Having struggled with the bat since Christmas, the Lions were again put under pressure by Brighton on Saturday.

Brighton made 9-209 from its overs, with Charles Dowling top scoring with 44.

Luke Denny was the pick of the bowlers for the Lions, taking 4-23 off his seven overs.

The Lions top order failed to fire, with three of the top six getting ducks.

Despite some late lower order hitting, the Lions were bowled out for 145 in the second last over.

Trent Waring top scored with 31.

The loss, the Lions sixth in a row, leaves the side sitting in 13th with four rounds remaining.

Werribee was the only west side to get a win on Saturday, beating Ormond.

Shaun Dean top scored with 70 as the Tigers made 7-189 from their overs.

Ormond got off to a strong start and were 0-108 and on top.

Once the wickets started falling, they continued to fall, with Ormond being bowled out for 176 in the final over.

Michael Kelly took three wickets.

The Tigers now sit third.
