Deer Park has continued its strong start to the Victorian Turf Cricket Association senior division season.

Proving it has one of the strongest batting sides within the VTCA, the Lions bowlers got the job done on day two of the match.

The Lions made 6-354 on day one against Craigieburn with the Eagles keen to replicate the heroics of the Lions with the bat.

The Eagles couldn’t and were dismissed for 98, with seven of the Eagles batsmen going for ducks.

Ricky Suvada and Sohail Hussain picked up four wickets each.

The Eagles dug in for their second innings as the Lions attempted to win outright, finishing their second innings on 2-86.

In other results, Keilor was unable to win its clash against Yarraville Club.

Keilor won the toss at elected to bat last week and put up a healthy total of 251 but were bowled out within 75.3 overs.

The Clubbers were clinical in its chase, making the runs from just 63.4 overs, and just three down, finishing 3-254.

Halwathurage Jayasinghe was its top scorer with 101 not out. Aakash Katarey took three wickets for Keilor.

St Albans was able to get the win against the Druids after a strong bowling performance last week.

The Saints elected to bowl and dismissed the Druids for 190 last week. Nils Priestley picked up where he left off from day one when he had already scored 100, going on to make 160.

The Saints were able to chase the runs down and get 53 runs ahead on the first innings before they declaring at 7-243.

The Druids were 2-42 in their second innings when the game ended.

Sunshine United got the win against Westmeadows. Defending 215, the Tigers bowled the Warriors out for 173 in 62 overs.
