Knights record win in cup match

Melbourne Knights progressed through to the sixth round of the Australia Cup tournament following a steady 2-0 win over Bulleen Lions at Knights Stadium on Wednesday.

Two goals from star forward Gian Albano sealed the win for the Knights over the National Premier League 2 side.

Bulleen came into the game with a strong 4-1 win in NPL 2 on the weekend although the Knights were able to hold off any of their attacking plays for the game, keeping a clean sheet.

The Knights had also entered the game in some form having defeated the Eastern Lions 3-0 at home.

Albano had also scored in that game which is one of his four goals in total for the NPL season so far after nine rounds.

In NPL action this week, the Knights will take on Dandenong Thunder away from home.
