Keilor Thunder taken to the limit

Keilor Thunder has preserved its undefeated record in Big V basketball men’s division 1.

The Thunder was taken to the limit by Melton Thoroughbreds at the Keilor Basketball Stadium on Sunday before emerging with an 82-75 win.

Thunder’s Jacob Coleman-Bock led all scorers with 22 points to go with six rebounds.

Jordan Coleman had 18 points and six rebounds for the Thunder, while Matt Spencer filled the stat sheet with 12 points, eight assists, six rebounds and two steals. Charleston Long was outstanding in the paint with nine points and 16 rebounds.

The Thunder holds a perfect 7-0 record ahead of a double-header weekend of games against Latrobe City Energy at home on Saturday night and Western Port Steelers away on Sunday.

In women’s division 1, Genna Anderson top-scored with 22 points in Keilor Thunder’s 76-65 win over Casey Cavaliers at home on Saturday night.

Aneta Bandilovski was also influential with 18 points as the Thunder made it two wins on the trot.

The Thunder moved up to seventh after its third win of the season.

It will face another three-win team, Latrobe City Energy, in a crucial game at home on Sunday.
