Keilor Thunder cruises to easy win in finals opener

Keilor Thunder has made a raucous start to the Big V basketball men’s division 1 playoffs.

The Thunder obliterated the Bulleen Boomers 117-71 in a one-sided elimination final at Keilor Basketball Stadium on Sunday.

It was virtually over as a contest at half-time after the Thunder raced to a 30-point lead.

The Thunder kept the foot on the pedal to record a massive 46-point win.

Import Jordan Coleman was at his stunning best for Keilor, registering 29 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Matt Spencer also had a day out for Keilor, scoring 26 points to go with seven rebounds.

Spencer hit a team-high four threes.

Thunder captain Chuck Long had a well-rounded game with 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while Mitchell Lukey was strong off the bench with 15 points.

In women’s division 1, Keilor Thunder advanced to the next round of the playoffs after a 78-63 win over Werribee Devils at the Keilor Basketball Stadium on Sunday.

A fast start was the key for the Thunder, racing to a 19-point lead by half-time and never looking back.
