The drought is over for Keilor Thunder in the Big V basketball men’s state championship.
The Thunder found a way to get back on to the winners’ list with a 93-83 win over Blackburn Vikings at the Keilor Basketball Stadium on Sunday.
It was Keilor’s first win since March 24.
This victory will offer encouragement for Keilor coach Liam Glascott.
Jordan Coleman was the centrepiece to the Thunder’s win. The import dropped five three pointers in his 25 points, six rebounds and five assists.
The Thunder (3-7) will have a daunting trip to Ringwood Hawks (8-2) to negotiate on Saturday night.
In the women’s state championship, Keilor Thunder lost 59-52 to Eltham Wildcats at Keilor Basketball Stadium on Saturday night.
Import Kailyn Williams produced an impressive performance for the Thunder with 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Keilor (3-6) will have a difficult assignment against Ringwood Hawks (8-2), who are on a four-game winning streak, at home on Saturday night.
