Keilor gets first win

Keilor piled on the runs against St Anthonys in the Cricket Victoria Women’s Community Cricket north-west B one day competition on Sunday.

The Blues made 1-203 from 19 overs with the opening pair of Ruby Gibson (56 retired not out) and Olivia Panaia (42 retired not out) setting the tone.

The Blues were then able to restrict the Saints to 6-33.

The win was the Blues first of the season.

Sydenham-Hillside lost to Ballarat Women’s (2).

The Storm made 7-52 from their 20 overs. Tara Brown top scored with 15.

Ballarat chased down the runs with ease, finishing 1-55 off 9.2 overs.

In the Victorian Turf Cricket Association’s women’s competition, Caroline Springs had no issues against St Andrews.

The Falcons bowled St Andrews out for just 39.

Mariam Hussain, Myyen Au and Emma Meissner took two wickets apiece.

The Falcons finished 0-41 in reply.

In the North West Metropolitan Cricket Association women’s division 1 competition, Keilor Park made 200-plus for a second straight week on the way to a win against Aberfeldie.

Burnside Springs United 2 suffered a loss to Melbourne Deaf 2 in division 3, while Keilor lost to Haig Fawkner-East Coburg, while Sydenham-Hillside lost in division 5.
