Keilor made history late last month when it claimed the Bowls Victoria midweek pennant division 2 overall title.
After winning the division 2, section 2 title, Keilor then faced other section winners in a knockout finals series.
Keilor faced Yarra Glen in the division 2 grand final in what turned out to be a classic grand final.
Each team won one rink each, while they split the third. Keilor came away with the title, 54 shots to 53 shots.
Keilor chairman Joe Watkins said wins like this don’t happen every day.
“We’ve the best team out of 80 clubs,” he said. “It’s really good news.
“We were on top of the ladder at the end of the home and away season.
“We had to play in the sectional finals and win two games, before the 10 sectional winners of the knockout competition.”
Watkins said it was the first time the club had won an overall division title since the men and women’s competitions were combined.
He said they had previously won a women’s overall division title before that.
“It’s not something that we have achieved before,” he said. “It’s a 14 game season and then to win enough games to make finals and win is a big achievement.”
It’s been a strong season for Keilor, which had 10 sides across midweek and weekend pennant.

“We had six sides make finals out of 10. To win a premiership and have a runners up as well, is really good.”
