Melbourne Knights weren’t able to kick-off its round 11 clash against the Oakleigh Cannons as big puddles formed on parts of Knights Stadium from large rainfalls during the day on Friday in the National Premier League.

Commentators were in their seats ready to call the action, although the ground was deemed unplayable causing the game to be suspended to a later date.

On the same night, Green Gully were able to begin their match at Green Gully Reserve, as they went on to defeat Heidelberg United 4-0 in a wet and slippery affair.

Gianluca Iannucci banged through two goals for the Cavaliers to extend their lead to 3-0.

Fast forward to Sunday afternoon where St Albans fell short 2-1 to Dandenong Thunder at Churchill Reserve.

Nikola Jurkovic levelled scores at 1-1, but the Saints weren’t able to hold on as a late strike from Thunder’s Tomas Maricic got them over the line.
