The battle for finals spots in Essendon District Football League women’s premier division will go down to the final round.
Four teams have secured their finals spots, with Hillside and Westmeadows battling it out for the fifth spot.
The Sharks gained the upper hand on Friday night, beating Strathmore.
Trailing by five points at half time, the Sharks kicked the only three goals of the second half to come away with a 5.6 (36)-3.4 (22) win.
Emily Paterno was best on ground, kicking four of her side’s five goals.
The win moved the Sharks into the fifth.
Westmeadows had the chance to win back that spot on Saturday, facing Aberfeldie.
Not for the first time this season, Aberfeldie had a big win, beating the Tigers, 16.13 (109)-1.1 (7).
Jacqueline Wade kicked five goals for Aberfeldie, while Andrea Gobbo was named the Tigers best.
The results mean that Westmeadows needs to win in the final round and hope Hillside losses to sneak back into finals.
The Tigers face third placed Sunbury Kangaroos and the Sharks play fourth placed Burnside Heights.
The top two positions won’t change, with Aberfeldie claiming the minor premiership and Keilor finishing second.
On Sunday, the Blues beat the Sunbury Lions, 9.11 (65)-1.2 (8).
Lisa Kirby kicked three goals for the Blues.
A win this week for the Sunbury Kangaroos will give them third spot and the double chance.
The Kangaroos enter the final round on the back of good form, having smashed Craigieburn on Saturday.
Despite missing their three leading goal kickers, the Kangaroos still won 14.18 (102)-0.1 (1).
Cousins Regina and Bailee Said kicked four goals each, while Teaghan Tweedly made the most of her opportunity in the ruck, playing her best game.
Burnside Heights secured its finals berth with a 9.13 (67)-0.0 (0).
Maria Afuhaamango was best on ground, kicking four goals for the Bears.
The Bears, that currently sit fourth, can finish as high as third depending on results.
