Eight Essendon Keilor College students will have just one-and-a-half minutes to show judges just how well they can high-kick, split leap and push-up next month.
The schools’ year 9 aerobics team and its combined year 11-12 team came second and fifth respectively at the Victorian AeroSchools State Championships last month, earning them both a spot at the Australian Championships on September 16.
Year 7 co-ordinator and head of the school’s elite aerobics program, Blair Harbrow, said the girls have been training long hours and deserve to be competing at the national level.
“They’ve been working extremely hard for years,” she says.
“This is a big deal. Now our hopes are to place a-t the nationals and lap up the atmosphere,” Ms Harbrow says.
