Keilor will make back-to-back finals appearances in the Essendon District Football League.
The Blues booked a place in the top four after an impressive 28-point win against Strathmore on Saturday.
In what was a battle between fourth and fifth on the premier division ladder, it was the home side Keilor that made the better start.
The Blues booted four first-quarter goals to take a nine-point lead into the opening break.
The hot start set the standard for the rest of the afternoon, with Mick McGuane’s men having an answer for everything.
Led by three goals from Jack Kennedy, the Blues booted another nine majors to secure the 13.8 (86) – 8.10 (58) win.
It wasn’t just at the attacking end that Keilor impressed. No side has been able to kick more than 10 goals against the Blues for the past month.
Keilor football operations manager Paul Barbuto was rapt with his side’s performance.
“It was a good quality game,” he said.
“Strathmore really gave us a good contest all day. The result wasn’t really known until the last quarter.
“We are pretty happy with the way we are defending, and I think that is Mick’s game style. We want to have a solid defence.
“At the end of the day, you still have to kick goals to win a game. At the moment, I think we have got the balance right between defence and attack.”
Saturday’s win created a 12-point gap between fourth-placed Keilor and fifth-placed Strathmore.
Also in the Blues’ favour is the 30-point percentage differential.
With a top-four spot now locked away, Keilor can turn its attention to push for a potential home final.
The Blues are equal on points with second-placed Greenvale and third-placed Pascoe Vale. Aberfeldie remains on top of the ladder with a perfect 13-0 record.
“There is no doubt our squad has improved since last year, but then again, so have the three above us,” Barbuto said.
“That is the reality of it. The three teams above us have much better teams than last year.
“We don’t have eight ex-AFL players in our squad. We are very happy with what we have achieved so far. The first step was to make finals and, hopefully, we are there now.”
Keilor will have the chance to keep its winning run going this weekend, with the Blues set to take on the last-placed Northern Saints.
Meanwhile, in division 1 results, Hillside produced a come-from-behind win against local rival Taylors Lakes.
The Sharks trailed by 13 points at half-time but stormed home, kicking 10 second-half goals to three for a 14.9 (93) – 9.6 (60) win.
The loss drops Taylors Lakes to the bottom of the ladder, with the Lions now in danger of being relegated.
